The company driver
How adding a driver to the trip sheet works — with or without their own account — and how it differs from sharing a car with family.

How it works
A driver is a name on the trip sheet. You add them yourself, from the company screen, with their name and, optionally, their license number — they don't need an account in the app. You open the sheet for them (car + driver + starting mileage), you close it at the end of the month — the fiscal document always stays yours.
If you want, you can also give them access from their own phone: invite them by email from the driver list. They accept from the app — if they don't already have an account, they create one on that email. From then on:
- The car they drive shows up on their Home screen, marked with the company's name — much like a car shared within a family, but more limited: they see the ITP / RCA / Rovinieta status and their own sheet, nothing else. They don't see the car's costs, and don't see the fleet's other cars.
- When you open a sheet for them, they get a notification — and another one when you close it, so the car doesn't simply vanish from their Home screen without explanation.
- They add their own trips and refuelings, straight from the car, including through voice dictation, and can export the sheet (even while open) as a PDF at any time.
- Their personal life in the app stays untouched: their own cars, their own log, their own alerts. The company is a card on their Home screen, not a space they step into.
💡 The account is optional, any time: a driver without an account stays exactly as they are — just a name on the sheet — until (and if) you decide to invite them.

Company driver vs. family sharing
These are two different ways someone else can work on one of your cars, meant for different situations. The basic rule: sharing is for your personal cars, the driver is for company cars. You don't share a company car with family — that's what enrollment and the trip sheet are for. You don't add your partner as a company driver — that's what sharing is for.

Does the company driver need an AutoMeu account?
No, but they can have one — it's optional. You add them by name on the trip sheet; if you want, you can also invite them by email, so they can link an account and fill in their own trips and refuelings straight from the car.
What's the difference between family sharing and the company driver?
Sharing is for your personal cars, with someone in the family — informal. The driver is for company cars, with a trip sheet — a work relationship. Neither replaces the other.
