Automatic trip sheet from your phone

You start the trip in the app and set it aside — the route records itself from the phone's GPS, with no separate device bought at all. Free, like the rest of the app.

What it is

The third way to fill in a trip sheet, after the manual one (you write the route yourself) and the one with a dedicated GPS/OBD device (hardware installed on the car, a separately paid option). This one sits in between: automatic, but with no hardware at all — just the phone the driver already carries anyway.

You start the trip, the phone records the position in the background, and at the end the route (duration, distance, map) shows up already filled in, "pending approval" on the car's trip sheet.

How to start a trip

On the open trip sheet, Add route → Automatic — phone GPS. The app asks for location permission (if it doesn't already have it), then you choose:

Where you're starting from — pre-filled automatically from the current position, editable through search
Where you're going — optional. If you pick it, the app detects the arrival on its own; if you don't, you stop manually at the end

From there you can navigate freely in any other app — Waze, Google Maps, whatever you prefer. The route keeps recording as long as AutoMeu stays open in the background.

How the trip stops

Three mechanisms, combined:

You reached the destination — if you picked "where you're going", the app automatically detects the approach and stops the trip on its own.

You've been stationary for a while — a universal safety net, even without a chosen destination: after a good while of standing still, the trip stops on its own.

You stop it manually — any time, from the "Stop trip" button, right on the app screen.

Saving battery in traffic

While the car is stationary (traffic jam, a long red light), the app detects the standstill and pauses GPS recording, restarting it automatically as soon as the car moves again — lower battery use on long trips through the city.

Does it go straight onto the fiscal sheet?

Never automatically — just like the dedicated GPS/OBD device version. The detected route appears in a "pending approval" list; someone from the company chooses the type (business or personal) and approves or rejects it, before it becomes a real entry on the sheet.

💡 If two trips end up overlapping in time on the same car (e.g. two phones that recorded at the same time), the app flags the overlap right at approval — the decision still belongs to the human.
